Purpurite is a rare mineral of the phosphate group. It impresses with its unusual purple color and a silky iridescent cat's eye effect. Because of its rarity, purpurite is a coveted collector's item.
The mineral is found in noble pegmatite rocks only when a lithium/manganese rock strata has been locally converted to purpurite by natural pH lowering. There are only a few localities worldwide: this stone comes from a site newly discovered in 2020 in the gemstone fields of Minas Gerais in Brazil.
Purpurite is considered a power stone and is said to increase the ability to regenerate and react. Purpurites are associated with the 6th and 7th chakra.
The delivered tumbled stone may differ slightly in shape and color from the pieces shown. The stone is delivered cleaned, may rub off slightly if rubbed.
