Tanzanite is only found in one place on earth, near Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, East Africa. This Tanzanite has been heat treated to enhance the blue color, but is otherwise natural and uncut.
Tanzanite is pleochroic, meaning the blue, gray and violet tones within the stone vary depending on the angle from which the stone is viewed.
