Carnelian is the orange-red variety of chalcedony (agate) and belongs to the quartz family and is also known as sardine. For as long as anyone can remember, this intensely colored gemstone has been used to make jewelry and ornaments. The red of the stone can be intensified by exposure to sunlight and heat.
These arrowheads in excellent gemstone quality are suitable, for example, as collector's items, as arrow ornaments for archers or as magical relics in fantasy games. These handcrafted arrowheads were found in the south of Brazil in the state of Rio Grande do Sul.

Already 4000 years ago protective amulets with carnelian were made in Troy. As early as the Middle Ages, Hildegard von Bingen recommended carnelian as one of the most important healing stones. Carnelian is attributed to the signs of the zodiac Aries, Taurus and Scorpio and is considered the gemstone of the 2nd chakra (sacral).
