A rich blue exotic gemstone with hints of grey and violet, Tanzanite is only found in one place on earth, near Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, East Africa. This Tanzanite has been heated to enhance the Blue color but is otherwise natural and uncut as nature created.
Each Tanzanite Gemstone is uncut and unique, because of this the appearance of each gem will differ slightly based on natural variations in structure. Pairs are hand selected for the best match. Gemstones are 10-20 cts in weight and approximately 3,1 cm tall by 1,27 cm wide.
Tanzanite is pleochroic, meaning the blue, gray and violet tones within the stone vary depending on the angle the stone is viewed from. There might also be a slight color change in incandescent light causing stones to appear more violet.
