Selenite is named after the Greek goddess of the moon, Selene. Selenite is a translucent white type of gypsum with a prismatic internal structure composed of calcium sulfate dihydrate (meaning that it has two molecules of water). Selenite is considered to be an important tool for energy workers, used to purify, clear, and charge other crystals.
